William Fredric “Fritz” Hadra Sunday, January 19, 1936 - Thursday, June 8, 2017
Cumberland, MD – William Fredric “Fritz” Hadra, 81, of Cumberland, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at University of Maryland Shock Trauma.
Born January 19, 1936, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Hadra was the son of the late Robert Eugene Ewing and Evelyn A. (Dreyer) Ewing.
A graduate of Allegany High School, Class of 1954, Fritz attended Fairmont State College where he played football and retired from Moore Business Forms with over 35 years of service. After retirement, Fritz worked for Imtech for a few years. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church serving as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher and was a Trustee. Fritz was on the Finance Committee at Calvary Christian Academy. He was an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors, gardening, and spending time at Smoke Hole, WV.
Fritz is survived by his wife of 61 years: Norma Hadra; and his children: William Hadra, II, and wife, Cheryl; Robert Hadra and wife, Timi; Mark Hadra and wife, Tara; Susan Dillow and husband, Matt; and Amy McLean and husband, Andy. He also leaves behind his brother: Michael Hadra; and his grandchildren: Jennifer Prentice and husband, Russ; William Hadra, III, and wife, Teesha; Robert Hadra, II, and wife, Claire; Bethany Hadra and fiancé, Benjamin Murphy; Benjamin Hadra and fiancée, Sarah Thiemer; Emily Hadra; and Matthew Dillow, II. Fritz is also survived by his great grandchildren: Holden and Brooks Prentice; Robert Hadra, III; Benjamin Hadra, II; and Liam and Kiernan Murphy.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 930 Frederick Street, Cumberland, MD, on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor David Hattenfield officiating. The family will also receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
