Shirley Ann Bridges Tuesday, September 21, 1943 - Monday, July 17, 2017

Clearville, PA – Shirley “Fuzz” Ann Bridges, 73, of Clearville, PA, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
 
Born September 21, 1943, in Bedford, PA, Mrs. Bridges was the daughter of the late Norman Miller and Nellie (Howsare) Miller.  She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren: Shawna Bridges, Brianna Garlitz, and Lil Robert Ruby; a sister: Pearl Street; and two brothers: Homer and Robert Miller.
 
A graduate of Bedford High School, Class of 1961, Shirley was a former employee at Tommy’s Market, Jeff’s One Stop, and Helmick’s Grocery.  She previously attended the Prosperity United Methodist Church.  Shirley enjoyed playing the guitar, listening, and singing to bluegrass and gospel music with her family.  She enjoyed cooking for her husband and family and spending time with her grandchildren.
 
Shirley is survived by her husband of 56 years: Charles Bridges; her son: Tom Bridges and wife, Crystal; and her daughters: Debbie Ruby and husband, Robert; and Diane Bridges and Keith Garlitz.  She also leaves behind her sisters: Betty Koontz and Ethel Tew; her brother: Norman “Biggy” Miller; and her sister-in-law: M. Louise Twigg.  Shirley is also survived by her grandchildren: Carrie, Mike, Jordan, Sharee, Rochelle, Harley, Tom, Jr., and Casey; her great grandchildren: Xavier, Chloe, Bradley, Barrett, Raiden, Makayla, Marleigh, Kamden, and Elena; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, and loved ones.
 
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Thursday, July 20, 2017, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
 
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, July 21, 2017, at 11:00 A.M., with Reverend Fred Iser officiating.
 
Interment will be in Beans Cove United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Shirley was my Aunt and very sweet person I love her very much and I known on this day that she is with God heaven.  I'm sending conodolence to all her family on my uncles side on hers sorry I can not be there.  I pray that God will put his lovely arms around her husband and her daughters and son and their families and help them through these sad times.

i have known shirley all my life...she took me in and treated me like one of her own...she fed me ,she taught me a few songs on the old get box as she called it sometimes ....to say that this lady was a wonderful person is not enough...i loved her and looked up to her...she sometimes was a mom to me and my dad and brother also...shirley heaven has a new angel  in its band ...you will be missed so much...my family loved you so much...love beebs....
